Hypecade

About the Project:

The Hypecade product was launched to solve a problem at gaming shows: the disconnected nature of the show floor. Traditional apps let you browse with little more than a blurb, Hypecade lets you set real appointments, see giveaways, and borrow gear. It brings all on-site activities into one home: a web app.

The Product:

Hypecade has four primary elements:

  • Overall event management

  • Appointment booking and queue management

  • Giveaways

  • Product Borrowing and Purchasing

Overall Event Management

If you're running an event, the admin panel allows you to: add, approve, and modify vendors and exhibitors on the show floor and give them permissions. It also lets you set up and manage multiple events.

Appointment and Queue Management

At the admin and exhibitor level, Hypecade users can create and publish blocks of spaces that can be used for meetings or queue management. This is useful for managing: private meetings, meet-and-greets, and demo lines. Attendees are able to view all available appointments in one simple interface. The system uses a QR code for check-ins. We send SMS alerts to verify and remind attendees of their appointments.

Giveaways

Exhibitors can publish and have attendees participate in giveaways via Hypecade. Like appointments, attendees can see all available appointments or scan to access a specific QR code on-site. Once they've entered, they'll receive SMS alerts to come back and participate in the giveaway. We currently use a randomized raffle to manage giveaways.

Product Borrowng and Management

At gaming events, it's not uncommon to have an equipment company lending out headphones and other peripherals to attendees. Currently, it's managed with a paper system. We created a digital system that keeps a card on file to hold the borrow. This makes borrowing a simpler, faster, and less messy process for everyone.
